Lebanese abducted in Mozambique released without payment of ransom

A Lebanese national, who was abducted in Mozambique in southeast Africa, was released on Wednesday, one day after his kidnapping.

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said via Twitter that the man was released without the payment of any ransom.

Mohammed Ali Ahmed, who hails from the southern town of Hariss in Bint Jbeil, was kidnapped by a gang in Mozambique on Tuesday.

The Lebanese Charge d'Affaires in Maputo Ara Khjatorian followed up on the issue to ensure the release of Ahmed.
