Health Minister Wael Abou Faour announced on Monday a new set of rating figures for hospitals across Lebanon in accordance with new classification standards that he had announced back in September, 2014.
Minister Abou Faour said in a press conference that the results have either improved the rating of some hospitals or worsened them, stressing that these results are all based on a new criteria set by the Ministry of Health.
"Hospitals should not discriminate when it comes to healthcare and the well being of citizens," he added.
Moreover, Abou Faour assured that new criteria and ratings are not any sort of revenge or punishment, emphasizing that they are reformatory measures.
"The ministry is willing to reconsider the comments of objecting hospitals," Abou Faour noted, pointing out that the ministry will launch a new set of classifications within the upcoming few months..
