Al-Nusra Front Emir al-Joulani says battle with Hezbollah "did not start yet"
The emir of the al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front, Abou Mohammed al-Joulani, declared late on Tuesday that fighting with Hezbollah in Lebanon has only just begun, vowing surprise attacks along the Lebanese-Syrian border.

“Our brothers in the al-Qalamoun region have many surprises... The real battle in Lebanon has yet to begin,” al-Joulani said.

“Hezbollah's Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah will regret during the upcoming days the harm he inflicted on Sunnites in Syria.”

“We were forced to move the battle into Lebanon, mainly, Hezbollah's stronghold in the South and Beirut's southern regions and to target its positions,” the emir added.

Al-Joulani said al-Nusra Front fighters sent many signals to Hezbollah to show the risks of its military involvement in the ongoing war in Syria and its support to Bashar Assad's regime.

Hezbollah sent fighters to Syria to back President Assad's forces against rebels trying to topple him. The military intervention in Syria earned the group the enmity of Syria's Sunni rebels. Assad is a member of the Alawite sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam.
