Unidentified baby girl abandoned in Akkar town
A baby girl was found abandoned at the crossroads leading to the town of Deir Dloum in Akkar, the state-run National News Agency reported on Thursday.

"The unidentified baby was transferred to Al Youssef Medical Center in Halba," the agency said, adding that an investigation was launched to determine the identity of the girl and that of her parents.

In a similar incident, Abou Massab, a resident of Wadi al-Zina in Iklim al-Kharroub, found on November 3rd at the doorstep of his house a new-born child with only a blanket covering his body.

Before handing over the child to the police station, Abou Masaab and his wife resorted to their neighbor who breastfed the new born.
