Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea stressed that the presidential candidate of the Change and Reform bloc is known for his recklessness “as demonstrated during the civil war era.”
In this regard, Geagea accused the Change and Reform bloc of obstructing the presidential elections, noting that the Lebanese people want a president to be elected the soonest possible.
The LF chief called for holding the party hindering the presidential polls accountable for its actions, adding that this party has also been hampering the adoption of a new electoral law by demanding the explanation of Article 24 of the constitution (which is related to the parliamentary elections), without proposing an alternative.
The Lebanese deputies failed 15 times to elect a new president amid the ongoing political deadlock, delaying the parliamentary session scheduled for today (November 19th) until December 10.
