LAF chief Kahwaji says war against terrorist organizations ongoing

Lebanese Armed Forces chief Jean Kahwaji said on Friday that the war against terrorist organizations will continue until they are uprooted from Lebanon.

"The Army Command will deploy further efforts and will use all possible means to release the kidnapped troops," Kahwaji said in his Order of the Day on the occasion of Lebanon's Independence Day.

The LAF chief also addressed Lebanese troops saying: "You thwarted the dream to form an Emirate from the eastern border to the northern coast".

"Had this Emirate been established, it would have led to deadly sectarian incidents across the Lebanese territories," he warned.

Kahwaji also urged LAF soldiers to remain on high alert to confront the Israeli enemy and to abide by UN resolution 1701 and its stipulations in coordination with the peacekeeping forces.
