Bishop Aoude says politicians should abandon their personal interests
Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church for the Archdiocese of Beirut Elias Aoude stated on Thursday that void at the presidential level is impeding the work of all state institutions.

During a mass held on the occasion of Christmas, Bishop Aoude asked whether hindering the presidential elections is democratic, stressing that Lebanese politicians should set aside their personal interests and work for the benefit of the nation.

In this regard, Bishop Aoude noted that presidential vacuum affects Lebanon at all levels, stressing that Lebanese people have the right to live in a capable and active republic.
