State Minister for Administrative Development Affairs Nabil De Freij said Friday that the party possessing weapons [Hezbollah] in Lebanon must understand the importance of stability, stressing that stability will be achieved once a new president is elected.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, De Freij noted that the Lebanese presidency does not only concern the Christians, pointing out that attending parliamentary sessions is the deputies’ main duty, while boycotting them is treason.
On another note, the minister said that honesty prevailed during the first round of talks between the Future Movement and Hezbollah, stating that ensuring internal stability serves the interest of Lebanon, Arab states and the world.
In this regard, De Freij said that dialogue is an important tool that contributes to easing the tension between rival parties, stressing the need to trust the Lebanese Armed Forces in their efforts to protect the country and the people.
