The media bureau of Bkerke declared Friday that Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai was admitted on Thursday to the Eye and Ear Hospital in Naccash after suffering an illness.
Rai was then transferred to the Maounat Hospital in Jbeil on Friday morning where he underwent a surgery to treat a minor internal bleeding in the brain. The media bureau stressed that the surgery was successful and the patriarch is now recovering.
