An armed man escaped with about $20,000 in cash after robbing a Beirut area bank on Thursday. The man, carrying a machine gun, robbed the Msharafieh branch of BankMed in the southern outskirts of Beirut. A rider on a scooter was waiting for him outside the bank. Both men were wearing masks. The robbery occurred around 11 AM as security footage captured the robbery. However, security source said identifying the thieves would be difficult.
