Minister Bou Saab says PM’s calls for consensus are essential
Education Minister Elias Bou Saab stated on Tuesday that the cabinet may not normally carry out its duties in the absence of a president.

Following the Change and Reform Bloc’s weekly meeting, Minister Bou Saab emphasized that Prime Minister Tammam Salam’s call for consensus is essential; however, noted that there should not be any obstruction.

“A minister or two should not be allowed to hinder the work of the cabinet,” he said.

In this context, Bou Saab stressed that “when certain components of the government voice their rejection over a certain decree, this should not lead to paralysis unless the objection were to be made by more than one minister.”
