The state-run national News Agency reported on Wednesday that two Syrian gunmen killed a man outside his home in the border town of Arsal. The agency identified the victim as Ali Ezzeddine, aka Ali Badriyeh, who was killed outside his house in the town of Arsal. “He was shot dead at the hands of two Syrian nationalson board a white Kia car,” the agency noted. Similar incidents have become frequent in Arsal in recent years. The border town hosts thousands of refugees who fled the atrocities of the current conflict in neighboring Syria. Militants from the al-Nusra Front, al-Qaeda's Syria branch, and the Islamic State group are deployed in the town's outskirts. In August 2014, they stormed the town and engaged in fierce clashes with the Lebanese army. The situation is still unstable in the town's outskirts amid near-daily clashes between the army and the militants.
