Rai urges Christians not to fear current challenges in Middle East

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai headed the Mass of the Presanctified in Bkerke, in the presence of former Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir and a number of Maronite bishops.

During the mass, Patriarch Rai urged the Christians to maintain their faith and have no fear despite the challenges currently facing the Middle Eastern region.

Father Tannous Nehme, Superior General of the Lebanese Maronite Order, presided on Friday the Mass of the Presanctified held at Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) in the presence of diplomatic, political, and religious figures including Apostolic Nuncio Gabriele Caccia and Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwaji.

Nehme addressed those who attended the Mass, stressing that they should not fear the hustle of any war and should always recall the words of the Supreme Pontiff who called on all people in the Middle East to remain attached to their roots.

Good Friday, also known as Great Friday, Black Friday, or Easter Friday, is a religious holiday observed primarily by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.

The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday proceeding Easter Sunday. Chat Conversation End
