Case of boy who was mauled to death by pit bull referred to the public prosecutor’s office - Ministry Statement
Health Minister Wael Abou Faour referred on Monday to the public prosecutor’s office the case of the 7-year-old boy, Michael Kassouha, who was mauled to death by a pit bull in the eastern city of Zahle.
According to a statement issued by the Health Ministry, Minister Abou Faour referred the case for further investigation after it appeared that the dog was being trained for fighting.
The statement added that such training involves cruel practices, in which animals are tortured and severely abused, adding that it has a high risk on citizens.
Earlier this month, Michael Dany Kassouha was killed by what was originally said to have been a family dog.
The dog, one out of seven pit bulls raised in the farm, went off his leash and attacked the child in the face and neck, killing him instantly.

Meanwhile, Michael’s father was resting with his friend in a room adjacent to the farm after having cleaned one of the cages.
