New increase in school fees, this time under the pretext of wage adjustment
A second increase was added to the school fees in one year. At the beginning of the academic year, parents continued to pay the rest of the increase ratified in 2010 under the pretext of grades awarded to primary education teachers, and before the end of this year, parents began to receives notices from schools, notifying them that they should expect a new raise on fees for the remaining portion of this year.

The parents’ associations announced that school fees cannot be changed without their consent, rejecting the increase. Yet, this does not mean that it will refrain from signing it.

The legal adviser of the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools Joseph Harb said that increases can only be determined by the Finance Committee, telling LBCI that the committee is now looking into the wage increase; it will add the contributions to the National Social Security Fund and then divide the amount by the number of students.

Meanwhile, the head of the Catholic School Parents' Association Union in Kesrouan, Joseph Bteich, appearing on LBCI, called on the government to ratify the wage increase at the end of the academic year, so parents can know beforehand the exact sum of the increase in fees.
