Two ISIL members arrested in Bekaa
The state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday that the General Directorate of State Security raided two towns of the Bekaa Valley, arresting two suspects for reportedly belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

The agency added that a state security unit raided the town of Tamnin near Niha and the village of Bednayel, apprehending two Syrian nationals for their links to ISIL.

A third suspect managed to flee to an unknown destination.

The two detainees were handed over to the concerned authorities.

The jihadists remain entrenched on the outskirts of the border town of Arsal on the Syrian-Lebanese borders.

The mountainous region along the Lebanese-Syrian border has long been a smuggling haven, with multiple routes into Syria that have been used to smuggle weapons and fighters.
