Gharib to LBCI: Economic bodies responsible for Lebanon’s current situation

Member of the Union Coordination Committee Hanna Gharib stressed Thursday that the economic bodies must be held responsible for the country’s current situation, “since they are the allies of the political class.”

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Gharib commented on the UCC’s abstention from participating in the BIEL economic conference today, saying: “why would we stand with the economic bodies, while they do not support our rights and reject the pay scale?”

In the same context, Gharib accused the BIEL economic conference of having a political aspect.

The economic committees will be gathering the country’s most prominent bankers and businessmen to convene in a conference in Biel later today, to denounce the economic situation in the country.
