LF official to LBCI: Differences with FPM will not become dispute

Lebanese Forces Media Official Melhem Riachi reiterated the “Lebanese Forces’ commitment to those who defend the rights of Christians.”

“An agreement has been reached with the Free Patriotic Movement and the Kataeb party regarding the basic rights of the Christian community and the necessity of restoring them,” he indicated in a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said on Friday.

“Our party agrees with the FPM on equity interest and many rights but opposes to the means adopted [by the FPM] when it comes to defending these rights,” stressing that differences will not turn into a dispute.

“Confrontations between both parties would be useless in light of a better option: dialogue,” he noted.

Riachi concluded by saying that the Future Movement is a strategic ally to the Lebanese Forces.
