Bishop Kassarji calls for helping Iraqi refugees

Head of the Chaldean community in Lebanon Bishop Michel Kassarji called on the Lebanese government and “all the people of goodwill” to help taking care of the Iraqi refugees, one year after the Mosul residents have been displaced from their lands.

Kassarji referred to suffering of the Iraqi refugees in Lebanon, praising the work of the Chaldean diocese in Beirut, which established in 2011 a St. Michel social and medical center in the region of Sad al-Bouchrieh, to provide various medical assistance free of charge.

The diocese also founded this year the “Our Lady of Divine Mercy Center” in the region of Sad al-Bouchrieh to welcome the newly-arriving refugee families and registering them, in order to be able to benefit from assistance.
