Introduction to the evening news 10-05-2012

Over 55 dead, almost 400 hundred injured. That was the toll of today’s Damascus' bombings, which is fast making Syria resemble the “scene in Iraqi”.

The explosions were the bloodiest since the outbreak of violence began 14 months ago, and since the implementation of Annan's plan; where it now seems that the mission of international observers has become semi-confined with the pursuit of explosions; today’s being the most recent.

Reactions mirrored international concerns as much as they reflected the international dilemma of how to deal with what is being described as “the Syrian predicament".

On the internal front, the overspending issue remains at a stalemate after receiving another setback during the cabinet session yesterday with no exit in sight.
