Al-Chanti arrested for attempted murder of military and security forces in Caracas

An arrest warrant was issued for Hani Hachem Al-Chanti following interrogations in the presence of his lawyer Maha Fatha by Military Examining Magistrate Imad Zein.

The arrest warrant was issued for attempted murder of military and security forces in the Caracas incident and arm possession.

Judge Zein will continue his interrogation Wednesday in the presence of defendant Gharam Hussein to reveal all facts pertaining to the incident.

The incident occurred May 23rd when gunshots were heard at night. Security and military forces rushed to the scene where they were locked in a shoot out with Al-Shanti and another gunman.

Security officials said the spark for the shootout was a personal dispute between Al-Shanti and Hussein.
