Citizen shot in Batroun, car set on fire in Rmeich

The body of 75-year-old Hafez Raji Zakaria was found in his garden in the town of Hamat, Batroun on Saturday. Zakaria was shot in the face with a “Bomb Action” gun that was found beside him. Investigations are underway to disclose the incident’s circumstances.

In Rmeich, Citizen Elie Georges Choufani headed to Rmeich police department to file a complaint. Choufani said that an unidentified man set his car (Peugeot) ablaze and tried to set fire to his Mercedes van parked outside his house in the town.

The judiciary appointed an expert to inspect the cars and take the necessary measures.
