Kahawaji briefs Sleiman on security situation

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman met Thursday with LAF Commander Jean Kahawaji who briefed him on the security situation in the north and border areas, particularly in Arsal.

Kahwaji highlighted heavy army deployment in the area to control the situation.

Sleiman also met with the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the UNIFIL, Major-General Paolo Serra with whom he discussed the implementation of UNSCR 1701 and the coordination between the UNIFL and LAF.

Separately, Sleiman received relatives of al-Jadeed TV cameraman,Ali Shaaban.
