Hajj Hassan denies allegations on trucks

In response to allegations that more than one hundred trucks loaded with Lebanese produce were refused passage, Agriculture Minister Hussein El Hajj Hassan confirmed Friday that only two trucks were turned around at the border, highlighting the continued contacts with his Arab counterparts to settle similar problems when they arise.

Hajj Hassan said that the administrative bodies connected with the agriculture and veterinary quarantines are always ready to heed the exporters’ legitimate demands such as granting them access to laboratory tests as well as the needed health certificates, calling on the concerned media outlets to only release credible information.

Hajj Hassan also highlighted the ongoing efforts to launch new markets provided that they meet required standards.
