Kortbawi to LBCI: Prestige of law above all

Justice Minister Shakib Kortbawi confirmed on Thursday that “no one can impose anything on the judiciary or undermine the prestige of the court”, stressing that the prestige of law stands above all.

In a statement to LBCI, Kortbawi explained that the detainees involved in Wednesday’s riots at the Justice Palace are convicted of other crimes and felonies.

Kortbawi added “let the Penal Code be rescinded if the judge is always the one to blame for each problem”.

In his concluding remarks, Kortbawi hoped that media outlets steer clear of “sensationalism” while reporting the news.
