How serious is the decision to allow domestic workers access to beach resorts?

Racial discrimination practiced in some beach resorts in Lebanon have reached Western media, placing the Ministry of Tourism on a time track to rapidly and consistently implement its decrees in the fight against discrimination.

Consequently some beach resorts began allowing domestic workers access to their pools while others are still trapped in xenophobia, keeping these workers away from their pools.

An Ethiopian domestic worker was not allowed entry to one of the most famous beach resorts in Beirut because of her color. The video depicts a receptionist making up flimsy arguments to prevent her from entering. One of the bystanders then proceeded to call the tourist police that rushed to the scene and launched an investigation.

In this regard, Farah Salka, from the Anti-Racism Movement called on anyone who sees similar behavior to call the tourist police, praising the efforts and cooperation between the police and the Ministry of Tourism.
