Sehnaoui to LBCI: We are conducting calls to connect Internet service to Cypriot cable
Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui announced on Thursday that the Internet breakdown in Lebanon is due to a cable cut-off at the sea of Alexandria. This cable passes through India, Pakistan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt towards Lebanon via the Mediterranean Sea.         

Sehnaoui told Nharkom Said that calls to connect the Internet service to the Cypriote cable are underway. He expressed hope for receiving a positive answer from Nikosia by this evening. Sehnaoui held former telecommunications ministers accountable for this disruption. He said that the IMEWE cable contract was signed by the head of Ogero Telecom in 2007, adding that the cable experience disruptions on a number of occasions with no compensations granted.
