Introduction to the evening news 10-07-2012
The cabinet managed on Monday to defuse internal tension related to Abd al-Wahed case by issuing a decision to expand relevant investigations. Thus, a meeting was held today in this regard at the office of Judge Said Mirza. Government commissioner to the Military Court judge Sakr Sakr and Military Investigation First judge Riad Abou Ghida attended the meeting.

However, this decision, which spared Akkar the continued protests and the entailing security tension, failed to steer the town clear of “the Syrian fire” that has been raging since the beginning of the Syrian uprising.

While the data-related case remains suspended, the cabinet began open sessions in an attempt to finalize the 2012 draft budget. However, the approved budget will be "low in density" given that the pay scale was referred to a sub-committee and the tax hikes were tied with that scale, a move carrying a lot of political intelligence and economical spite. From now on, each extra “penny” earned by the employee will be tied with a fiscal increase.
