Israeli troop activity on Lebanese border, LAF on alert

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) went on alert Tuesday near the southern border after Israeli soldiers were spotted installing a surveillance camera near the Fatima Gate in southern Lebanon.

UNIFIL forces came immediately to the scene and cooled down the situation. Fatima gate is a former border crossing point between the two countries, but the gate was closed in 2000 when Israel ended its 22-year occupation of southern Lebanon.
