Campaign calls for equal rights for women
In a press conference held on Monday, “Jinsiyati – my nationality is a right for me and my family”, called for the drafting of a new unaltered law  for the protection of women against domestic violence.

Four months had passed since the group had been active; dating back to the formation of the parliamentarian follow up committee established to care over women related issues and laws.

The follow up committee has failed to meet up since its formation, according to the activists.

The group announced that it will be reactivating its action on the ground starting on July 19th with a sit in before the office of the head of the follow up committee.
“Jinsiytati” is a Lebanese Campaign advocating for a law enabling women to pass on their citizenship to their family and for Lebanon’s full compliance to CEDAW (Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women).
