Hassan Khalil calls for strengthening ties with UNIFIL

Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil called for strengthening ties with the UNIFIL, describing the international forces as “an asset” for Lebanon.

“Protecting the UNIFIL is, just like protecting the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), a source of strength for Lebanon”, Hassan Khalil said.

Hassan Khalil urged all political parties to give national dialogue a real chance at correcting relations between different Lebanese factions and setting forth a new path based on unity.

 “Remarks on domestic division and sectarian crises are mere illusions”, Hassan Khalil said, during a graduation ceremony in Al Abbassia public high-school, adding: “The real crisis lies with those who are trying to take advantage of the people’s qualms to fortify their own positions and to stay in power.”

The Minister of Health ruled out any crisis between different sects in Lebanon by saying: “Lebanon’s diversity is a source of wealth and constitutes an opportunity to be a model for peaceful coexistence amongst different confessions.”
