Mirza hands STL reports on Hamade, Murr, Hawi

Lebanese state prosecutor Judge Said Mirza handed a Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) delegation the report he prepared on the attempts to assassinate former ministers Elias Murr and Marwan Hamade and the Communist Party’s Secretary General George Hawi.

Mirza also handed the delegation a report on the efforts exerted by the Lebanese authorities to enforce the arrest warrants requested by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in the assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri.

At this point, the Lebanese judiciary cedes to the STL jurisdiction over these cases by submitting to the STL copies of the files pertaining to the cases of Hamade, Murr and Hawi, according to an order by STL Pre-Trial Judge Daniel Fransen.
