Ghosn: we will terminate contracts with hospitals refusing to receive patients
The head of the General Labor Confederation Ghassan Ghosn called on Thursday for accelerating the approval of the pay scale for civil servants, stressing that the wage increase was "swallowed” by the high cost of living. He noted that this fact drove the General Labor Confederation to call on the index committee for holding meetings to reconsider the wages.

Following his meeting with the Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi and a delegation from the General Labor Confederation, Ghosn noted the discussions tackled the pay scale draft law and equity for civil servants.

“The meeting also tackled the latest threats voiced by hospitals syndicate, stating that it is as though the hospitals’ syndicates want to "punish the Social Security Fund subscribers since they are unable to punish the government, taking the patients as hostages to exert pressure on the government to get an increase for the hospitalization tariffs”, Ghosn said.

Ghosn concluded that he will demand the termination of contracts with any hospital refusing to receive patients.
