Future Bloc MP, Samir Jisr, said in an interview with Nharkom Said on LBCI that everyone should respect the resolutions of Thursday evening's meeting held at PM Najib Mikati’s Tripoli residence. Stressing that the LAF should be fully supported in order to establish security, he emphasized the LAF's need to exert more firmness in dealing with the current situation. “The LAF has our utmost support”, he added. The Future MP considered that the latest events happening in Tripoli are directly related to the Syrian crisis, stressing that the conflict’s roots are not sectarian. “The militants in Tripoli are divided between supporters and those who oppose the Syrian regime”, he said. Commenting on the government, Jisr described the cabinet as "incompetent" in light of continuous kidnappings. Accordingly, Jisr called for the formation of a new cabinet that includes all political parties, and which has security as its first and foremost objective. In response to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s latest speech, whereby Nasrallah revealed that Hezbollah and Amal are unable to control the situation, Jisr stressed that such statements are “dangerous and contradictory”. Jisr added that "if it is true, losing control will lead to severe security violations". As for MP Mouein Merhebi’s case, Jisr said that MP Merhebi is not against the LAF and that the Lebanese Constitution states that MPs cannot be legally pursued for their positions and opinions.
