Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants: we want the new law to be amended not removed
The Chairman of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants in Lebanon Paul Ariss confirmed on Tuesday the syndicate's respect to the application of the newly adopted non-smoking law  adding that the  syndicate only wishes for the amendment of the law to assure business continuity to more than 1000 restaurants and night clubs.

After meeting with PM Najib Mikati and concerned ministers, Ariss emphasized that the discussions were positive and promised  a solution satisfactory to all parties.

When asked if the restaurants and night clubs will respect the non-smoking law until its amendment, Ariss confirmed that these venues will keep their doors open and will respect the law.

"We are under the law and we refuse to be accused of harming public health", Ariss concluded.
