Non-smoking law will not have a negative impact on economy-AUB study

In response to information being published about the negative impact on the economy and tourism enterprises the non-smoking law will have, a research group at the American University of Beirut issued a study which says the law does not adversely affect the economy.

Its purpose is to protect non-smokers and reduce the proportion of smokers, the study added.

Information being circulated on the negative impact of the law by cafe owners is false and is not based on scientific studies the group added.
