After failure of negotiations, Al-Rafei arrives to Beirut

After the failure of negotiations in Turkey regarding the release of the Lebanese detainees in Syria, Sheikh Salem Al-Rafii has arrived to Beirut.Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel mentioned that he has been awaiting Al-Rafei's arrival to be briefed with adequate information regarding the negotiation process.

He also pointed out that this task was not commissioned by the ministry of interior; but was done in coordination with Al-Rafei.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 20th of May.

So far only one has returned home.
