Mashrou' Leila will not open for Red Hot Chilli Peppers' concert

Amid mounting pressure from fans and activists, Mashrou' Leila announced on the band's Facebook page late Tuesday afternoon that they will not be opening for American Rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Beirut Waterfront concert on Thursday.

Over the weekend, many supporters plead with the band to back out of the concert because RHCP is scheduled to perform in Israel next week. The band refused to comment on the subject; instead, preferred to meet its audience next Tuesday in a concert in Kaslik.
