Elections to the Druze Supreme Religious Council
Elections to the Druze Supreme Religious Council were launched Sunday morning across Lebanon to elect new members to the council.

The Lebanese Democratic Party supporters will abstain from voting, following to the decision of their party.

Security Forces are taking extra security measures around the polling centers.

The voting process is scheduled to end at 5 pm.

In this context, Minister of Public Works Ghazi Al Aridi stated while casting his vote that it would’ve been better if the The Lebanese Democratic Party had not abstain from voting, stressing that the Druze remain one solid entity.

Commenting on Patriarch Rai’s visiti to Shouf, Aridi said that the meeting between the Patriarch and MP Walid Jumblatt complements the reconciliation Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir initiated.
