Cabinet approves ministerial statement

The Lebanese government approved on Thursday the final ministerial statement.

Prime Minister Hassan Diab’s government convened in a session chaired by President Michel Aoun for a final read of the draft policy statement.

After the session ended, Minister of Information Manal Abdel Samad indicated that President Aoun thanked at the beginning of the session the efforts made to accomplish the ministerial statement, and stressed the need to set priorities in every ministry.

Aoun said: "After the government gains confidence, work must begin immediately to make up for what has passed in the past weeks, and I am confident that the ministers can carry out the tasks assigned to them.”

He also asked to add the clause of the return of the displaced Syrians to the ministerial statement.

For his part, PM Diab stressed that this statement will be a model for the governments that will follow and is the product of facts and studies and does not carry individual accounts.

Diab called the government “The government of facing challenges".
