Despite enhanced security measures, kidnapping wave continues

Despite the enhanced security measures to fight the kidnapping wave, 4 masked gunmen kidnapped the 55 year old citizen Bassel Mahmoud Al Mays on Saturday evening. The abductors also stole the car Mays and his wife were riding, a Nissan Pathfinder (plaque number: 150758/Z).

The hostage's “petrified” wife, whom the kidnappers let go, told LBCI that the incident happened near their house in Meksah-Bekaa, as they returned from a wedding. The wife added that her father was also kidnapped 30 years ago.

One worker also reported that he saw a fifth gunman in the nearby fields. The masked man tried to shot the worker and fled to an unknown destination.

The security apparatuses launched investigations while the LAF took the possible roads the abductors might have taken.
