Introduction to the evening news 28-09-2012

A campaign was launched today from St. George area under the banner of "regaining public properties" as the government ammunition got stolen in the Alman town of Jbeil where 20 gunmen attacked an ISF patrol and stole 3 rifles.  

This as the electoral law became the most talked about controversial issue on the Lebanese scene.    

The parliamentary committees convened on Thursday and Christian MPs in March 14 bloc presented the smaller districts proposal.  

This has resulted in the creation of two competing draft laws as Bkerki interfered and refused the 60's law.  

The first electoral draft law was endorsed by the cabinet and suggests 13 electoral districts with proportional representation, while the second suggests 50 smaller districts.  

The electoral "bazaar" is expected to remain open until the end of 2012, the due date to ratify a new electoral law.  

In case the Lebanese officials fail to ratify a new electoral law, their only option will be the Doha agreement law which is an updated version of the 60's law.  

While Lebanon is drowning in the electoral law's mess, Syria drowns in blood as the violence wave invades  Aleppo and other Syrian cities.    

In this context, US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced that Syria relocated some of its chemical weapons to keep them in a safe place.
