Rahi hopes that the Middle East finds its way towards peace

Maronite Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi began his visit to Hungary on Sunday upon an official invitation by the Hungarian government and Catholic Church of Budapest.                

In a word upon arrival at the Airport, Rahi expressed his utmost state of joy to be visiting the land of Hungary; addressing greetings to the Hungarian government, Catholic Church and both Hungarian and Lebanese Embassies.                 

Rahi pointed to the deep, historical relations between both Lebanon and Hungary.

He added that both countries share many similar views and visions.                    

He also stressed on further deepening of the cultural, spiritual and social wealth shared between both countries, especially at the educational level between universities.             

Rahi also hoped in his brief word that the Middle East would overcome all war conflicts and violence, and find its way towards peace.             

Prior to the Patriarch's arrival, Lebanon's Ambassador to Hungary pointed out the importance of such a historical visit.                      

He indicated herein that the visit comes upon an official invitation by the Hungarian government, in light of the ruling Party's openness towards the East and its concern for Christians in Lebanon, the Copts in Egypt far-reaching to the Christians of Iraq and Syria.
