Charbel replies to electoral critique

Interior and Municipalities Minister Marwan Charbel said on Monday that preparations for the upcoming elections require time to fulfill the electoral operation without any flaws.

Minister Charbel's words came in reply to criticism by some deputies about his statements related to the necessity of ratifying the electoral law by the end of 2012, so that the Ministry can place all requisite logistic, technical, administrative, security and judicial preparations.

He elaborated that the Parliament is independent. However, "the deputies should not wait for the last minute to ratify an electoral law", he stressed.
