UNIFIL: no reconnaissance plane crossed from the Lebanese airspace

UNIFIL official spokesman, Andrea Tenenti, said on Monday that UNIFIL did not detect a reconnaissance plane leaving Lebanon's airspace towards Israel.

The Israeli air force shot down a pilot-less reconnaissance plane after it crossed into southern Israel on Saturday, the Israeli military said, but it remained unclear where the aircraft had come from.

The aircraft was first spotted above the Mediterranean in the area of Gaza Strip to the west of Israel.

In response to claims by some Israeli officials that the pilot-less aircraft had entered its airspace from inside Lebanese territories, Tenenti confirmed that UNIFIL had no information about this issue.
