Wahhab: Relativity-based electoral law eliminates “policy of buses”
Arab Unification Party leader and former minister Wiam Wahhab said that the electoral law is the main gate for any serious change or reform in the country. “Without a relativity-based electoral law, the plight will continue on the political, economic and social levels”.

“A relativity-based electoral law allows a new generation and all political forces to enter the Council; it also eliminates the policy of buses that turned out to be useless”, he said.
Wahhab stressed that the government must remain credible by launching a serious discussion on the electoral law, adding “the Interior Ministry cannot draft a law by itself because it requires consensus”.

“Assigning the Interior Ministry with this task may be an attempt to procrastinate or to maintain the current law”, Wahhab added.

Wahhab called on the concerned parties to accelerate the completion of this relativity-based electoral law for it represents the majority of the Lebanese. “Saying that relativity eliminates some confessions from political power is mere disinformation”.
