Gunmen from al-Zaiter shoot at security forces checkpoint

Gunmen from the Al-Zaiter Clan shot on Tuesday at a Security Forces checkpoint in Burj al-Barajneh surrounding its members.                                           

The LAF chased the armed gunmen and released the trapped ISF members. Zaiter family members had blocked the roads with burning tires as a unit from the Lebanese army rushed to the scene of the incident and chased the armed members.                       

In the details, Internal Security Forces stopped an illegal van and shot at the driver who is a member from the al-Zaiter Clan while in the midst of an attempted escape on his part.                         

According to reports, the security forces confiscated four vans near Lailaki Bridge which failed to meet the traffic rules and regulations.        

They added that the Internal Security Forces patrol came under fire from the gunmen as the authorities tried to tow the vans to the police station.            

One security forces personnel and another armed member were injured in the exchange of gun fire on Lailaki Bridge.        

The incident caused tension in the area.               

Security members managed to keep the van at a garage.
