President Aoun receives phone call from US Pompeo

President Michel Aoun received on Monday a phone call from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during which the US-Lebanese relations were tackled as well as the latest developments, mainly the negotiations on demarcating the southern maritime borders.

During the call, Aoun thanked Pompeo of the role that the USA is playing as a facilitating mediator in the negotiations, stressing that Lebanon is adamant on preserving its land and sea rights and sovereignty.

In turn, Pompeo informed President Aoun that his country sent aid to reconstruct the neighborhoods that were damaged in Beirut as a result of the explosion that took place in the port on August 4.
