Lebanese officials to Reuters: Briefed on ongoing efforts to reach ceasefire

Two senior Lebanese officials told Reuters on Wednesday that they had been briefed on ongoing efforts to reach a ceasefire in Lebanon, but did not disclose when it might begin or how long it would last.

They added that the duration of any ceasefire would likely be linked to how long the truce between the United States and Iran holds.

One of the officials said the United States had exerted pressure on Israel, including during talks in Washington on Tuesday, to push toward a ceasefire in Lebanon.
