Tablet PCs, a new revolution in the lives of Lebanese people

The Minister of Telecommunications Nicolas Sehnaoui signed a memorandum of understanding with Vice President of Intel and the General Manager of the “Intel World Ahead” Program John Davies to provide students with Tablet PCs operating on the 3rd Generation Technology (3G).

Sehnaoui said that he asked Touch and Alfa to participate in this program and develop the 3G technology instead of the wireless networks (WIFI) and mentioned that Bank of Lebanon has been supporting this program since the start.

For his turn, Minister of Education Hassan Diab said that the Ministry has concluded the final stages of the plan which will be put into effect by November.

“1,500 Tablets will be donated to the Lebanese students," he added.

“The Information and Communication plan will be implemented within a time frame that extends from this year until 2017," he concluded.
